I don't think I have anything wrong with me, can I still have reflexology?
Reflexology is regarded by practitioners as one of the best preventative medicines and is frequently used once a month as a maintenance treatment. For example, by stimulating the body's healing mechanism and boosting the immune system it is intended to maintain optimum levels of health and avoid many chronic, stress and immune related conditions.
I've been diagnosed as having cancer, can I still have reflexology?
Yes, the body is a magnificent healing machine and the act of reflexology is simply encouraging that activity naturally. Reflexology is a very useful therapy for helping cancer patients in it helps the patient relax and in some cases can help reduce the side effects of some heavy duty drug therapy. Many hospitals are now offering reflexology alongside chemotherapy treatment.
I'm pregnant, can I have reflexology?
Yes, reflexology is an excellent treatment to have while pregnant. Research suggests that having regular reflexology treatments while pregnant can significantly reduce labour outcome times. Please review the published research section on reflexology and pregnancy. Reflexology can also help many pregnant women for conditions such as nausea, cystitis, sciatica and lower back pain. If you are pregnant, or are trying for a baby, please let me know before the treatment commences.
How often should I have reflexology?
Generally a course of between 3 and 8 treatments at weekly intervals is recommended to balance up the whole body but this can vary depending on the conditions and the length of time they have been present. Many clients come once a month (if there are no particular health issues) as a maintenance program for general health and relaxation.
Can I claim reflexology treatments against my health insurance?
I am pleased to say that some companies have just started to include reflexology in their policies. Please check your individual policies for details. |
